This was a shot in the dark for me. I just knew I wanted to learn guitar finally, so I scrolled and chose a guitar instructor. Fast forward, I couldn't be happier working with Erik. His lessons are practical and within a couple of lessons, I was learning actual songs, not just chords. The best part is that my lessons are online. Enjoying the process of learning and practicing guitar from my living room. Excited to see where my lessons take me.

I have had a few guitar teachers in the past, though Erik's approach to lessons makes the most sense to me out of all of them. I appreciate his approach to the learning style of teaching through songs so that l am still able to have fun practicing a new song but learning important techniques and chords along the way. Erik is also extremely patient and understanding. He communicates his teaching in a variety of different ways so that if you don't understand the first (or second or third in my case) time that he explains something, he will find another way to explain it. All in all, he is a wonderful teacher and I truly believe I chose the best one in Omaha.

I am a bit older and always wanted to learn guitar. I have attempted many online options and someone suggested a live teacher. I found Erik through thumbtack and I can honestly say I am really happy to have started this journey. To start I am able to take lessons online through video conferencing. This is a must for me since I have a very busy work schedule. From there Erik had me playing songs right away, which is really rewarding. He also is extremely flexible and helps me learn songs I want to know. It's actually so cool... I bring up a song I want to play and he pulls it up to listen and works it out right then and there. Pretty amazing to watch. He also spends time answering questions I have about music or certain songs. Honestly it's been a great experience. Completely painless, low pressure and absolutely rewarding. Definitely recommend.

I really was not sure about taking lessons on-line. I am an older student and worried about being able to learn from someone who was not in the room with me. Erik has been wonderful! He is patient, positive and no matter how badly I mess up, he remains encouraging. He gives great tips for getting through challenges and sets obtainable practice goals. Originally I planned to engage in lessons for the summer (I started in July), but have enjoyed lessons so much that I will continue as long as my schedule will allow. I just shared with Erik that my job is pretty stressful, but my practice time and my time with him during lessons have become my "happy" place. I highly recommend him as a teacher.

I’ve been taking lessons with Erik for around 10 years, yet his knowledge of the instrument still never ceases to amaze me! In addition to his clear passion for music and his technical ability, he is a patient teacher, capable of teaching students at every level. I know because he taught me most of what I know, from early beginner to advanced stages. His teaching style is perfect for any guitarist who wishes to not only improve their playing, but also to improve their ear and their theoretical knowledge. His training has helped me in all of these areas, and made me a far better improviser as well. I couldn’t recommend Erik enough!

My daughter has been taking lessons with Erik for about a year and a half. She enjoys Erik’s teaching and looks forward to lessons each week. As a parent, I appreciate how Erik gives understandable and constructive feedback to my daughter. Erik is easy going and gets along great with her - not too formal. He also takes them through learning at a deliberate pace, ensuring they “get it” and not rushing through things. I’d highly recommend Erik for any student ability or age!

I've had a couple different instructors whom were amazing players but Erik is not just one of the best guitar players I've witnessed in person, he is also other worldly in his ability to prompt you as a student into a learning experience. For years I've been mulling about trying to get out of the intermediate hump as a player. My confidence was down and I just felt sort of lost. After a single lesson and guidance on what to study, I found that I was already beginning to play in entirely new ways. I just needed that small push. It's been amazing so far and I'm exceedingly happy I found an instructor with that x factor. His teaching skills are supreme.
